2. What can I do at WiseStep.com ? / How do I benefit from WiseStep.com?

WiseStep.com allows members the following features

• Keep in touch with your professional circle’s movements.
• Maintain an updated address book of your contacts
• Inform your network of your professional growth
• Get introduced: to the right people to find the right job, business opportunity, sales deals or anything else that you may be interested in
• Earn points and Rewards for referring your friends and contacts to jobs
• Opportunities to make networking work for you in a tangible way

3. Why do I need to create a Profile?

Creating a profile allows you to inform your network of your professional growth, achievements and movements. Writing a concise and informative profile also allows other members on the site to seek you out for the right kind of opportunity. Networking is a key tool to build a career. Make the most of it by being open to invitations and introductions to other members on the network. Creating a profile also allows you to earn points. Points allow you to move to higher level and earn more privileges like higher referral rewards, invitation to exclusive events etc.


4. Can I hide some information on my profile?

Absolutely, you have complete control over what information you want to show to your network. Just go to account settings>>profile settings and select the components you wish to display or hide.


5. I do not want to receive email notifications for different events? Can I do something about it?

You can choose to receive the communications you want to. Go to Account Settings>>contact Settings and choose the events you would like to get notified for. Its simple and easy.


6. How will earning points help me at WiseStep.com?

Earning points at WiseStep.com allows you increasing privileges. All members are SilverStep members when they sign up at WiseStep.com. Members earn points for all activities like

• Signing up and completing their profile
• Inviting friends to sign up at the site
• Referring friends and contacts to appropriate jobs
• If anyone you referred to a job opportunity is successfully placed
• Direct contact to members who are not in your network

As you earn higher level of points you move on to higher levels of GoldStep and PlatinumStep membership. These membership levels allow you to

• Earn more points for the same activities than SilverStep members
• Earn higher rewards for successfully referring friends to jobs (GoldStep, PlatinumStep members earn a higher reward for the same referral for the same job)
• More number of direct contacts to other members on WiseStep.com
• Privileged access to WiseStep.com events that may be organized from time to time

7. What are these points worth?

The points have no monetary value in themselves. These points however allow you to upgrade your membership and higher levels of membership allow more privileges

GoldStep and PlatinumStep membership allow members the following privileges
• Earn more points for the same activities than SilverStep members
• Earn higher rewards for successfully referring friends to jobs
• More number of direct contacts to other members on WiseStep.com
• Privileged access to WiseStep.com events that may be organized from time to time


8. How do I earn referral rewards?

Members can earn rewards by referring a job to their professional network and contacts. If the referred member in your network applies through WiseStep.com, successfully meets all criteria and terms laid down by the prospective employers and WiseStep.com, you will be eligible for a reward. Rewards are posted along each job position listed on the site. Some jobs may not contain rewards.

We respect your privacy so we allow no member to refer you directly to any employer. Instead, members can only refer the job opportunity to you. YOU choose to accept or reject the opportunity.

Please do not spam your network with job referrals. WiseStep.com reserves the right to suspend your account, revoke your privileges and even forfeit any outstanding rewards due to you

Do note that some employers have longer recruitment cycles so the process may take time.


9. Can I refer my husband / wife or any other family member?

You can refer anyone as long as the member is “qualified” and suitable for the position.


10. What or who is a “qualified” candidate/ referred member?

A qualified candidate/ referred member is one who is
• Interested in applying for the position through WiseStep.com
• Willing to provide a detailed resume for the position
• Be willing to relocate if the position so demands
• Provide current and expected compensation levels to the company posting the requirement
• Notice period details if any


11. Can I refer myself for a position myself and earn a reward?

You can apply for any position provided you consider yourself a suitable candidate for the position and provide all details as a “qualified” candidate. You will have to go through the same process with WiseStep.com and the prospective employer. If selected, you will get the sign on bonus (if any) listed for the job.

Important: Self applicants are eligible only for the Sign on Bonus and not the referral rewards.

12. Can anyone refer me to a job ? what about my privacy?

At WiseStep.com your privacy is of primary importance to us. No member can refer you to an employer. Any member can only refer a job opportunity to you. YOU CAN CHOOSE to ACCEPT OR DECLINE this opportunity. Nothing is forwarded to any recruiter without your consent.

Further, you can choose to set your job settings allowing members who are only your friends or on your networks to refer you. If you are more open to opportunities then, you can allow everyone on the WiseStep.com site to refer positions to you.


13. I referred someone in my network and I get a “declined” email from him/ her. Why is that so?

Career moves are important decisions and people consider many important things before they apply for a new job. Some of these reasons maybe

• They love their existing job/ position
• They do not want to move because of personal reasons
• They don’t like the details of the position you have referred them
• They already have other plans
• Confidentiality
• And many other reasons.

If you refer someone who you do not know well, chances are there will be a lot of declined requests. So look around and find the person who you think will fit the best in your view.


14. I referred someone in my network to a position and I get a “declined” email from WiseStep.com. Why is that so?

In some cases, WiseStep.com works closely with select clients in finding the right candidates for them. In those cases the WiseStep.com team maybe involved in the initial stages of the selection process. Based on the assessment of our team, we may take a view that in some cases, the candidates might not have the right fit.


15. I referred my friend to X position in Y Company. He was selected for this position and has already joined them. I have still not received my reward. Why?

WiseStep.com is focused on performance. It does not collect it dues from prospective employers until new employees join and meet certain criteria. This process takes some time once a selected candidate has joined the concerned organization. Rest assured, we are working hard to process your referral reward. 16. How will I get paid?

Once your referral reward has been confirmed and ready to payout just login to your account and look up “My rewards” Section under “My account”. Enter the details of where you will like to receive your money and we will send you a check.


17. Is WiseStep.com open to all countries?

WiseStep.com is open to members from all over the world. Unless otherwise explicitly stated no one from any geography are restricted. Users are welcome to sign up.

In terms of job opportunities we currently have companies from UK and India markets. We will notify members once we expand our services to other countries. members will be able to see job listings posted along with details of the position.


18. If I am not in UK or India can I still earn rewards?

WiseStep.com is a global platform. You can refer your friends from anywhere (India and UK included) if they are eligible for this position. If they get selected, you get paid.

19. Why is my payment amount less than the amount listed on the website?

Since job openings depend on geographical locations, we are required to make adjustments for any tax deductions, VAT, Service taxes based on local laws. If they do apply, we will notify you appropriately. Standard deduction or adjustment values for different countries will also be mentioned here in due course .


20. I am a student. Am I eligible for earning rewards?

It does not matter what you do as long as

• Whoever you refer be successful in the position applied for
• Whoever you refer be at least 18 years of age.
• That you have a bank account in the name you used to register at the website. Payments will not be entertained in names other than that of the referrer or in cash.


21. I am a HR Decision maker / Senior decision maker in a company and I can bring you recruitment mandates which can be posted for other members to fulfill, will I be entitled for some referral reward?

22. Is the referral rewards program open for everyone?

Yes this program is open to all. This site is built for networking. As long as you do not violate any of the terms and conditions of the website you are welcome. WiseStep.com may choose to block certain members or group of members at its discretion. Please read our terms and conditions for more details on what constitutes as violation of the terms of the site.


23. Do you deduct taxes at source on my commission?

WiseStep.com will deduct taxes at source as per tax laws in different countries. Any further filings required to be made by you will be responsibility of members.


24. My friend referred me and I found a job through WiseStep.com. How do I get my sign on bonus?

Candidates will be eligible to collect their sign on bonus from WiseStep.com if they have made their application through WiseStep.com to the concerned organization and completed the terms and conditions relevant to that specific position. In most cases, this is a case of completing the probationary period with the organization. Once the terms are completed and WiseStep.com is able to collect from the recruiting organization your sign on bonus will be sent to you.
