Job Description
1. The jobholder will be responsible for the leadership of General Accounting Team within the Global Accounting Centre, cost effective operation and the high performance of the Team .
2. The jobholder will be responsible to ensure that the excellent financial, management accounting, tax and statutory compliance service is provided to all businesses supported by the Global Accounting centre.
3. The jobholder will require the ability, eagerness and drive to work within a wide network of colleagues and service partners in order to deliver to customer expectation. This role is critical to ensure deployment of the organizations new Business Services strategy and in particular, the delivery of the Global Finance Function transformation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Managing, training, developing and motivating a solid, business oriented, high performance financial controllership team of approx. 10-15 professionals
Monitoring and managing the accounting and financial reporting process for the regions supported, in compliance with company policy, IFRS, SOX and differing regulatory requirements in each country.
Monitor the month end close process for the regions supported and ensuring critical processes and reconciliation obligations are met
Delivery of high quality, value add trend and actual analysis in timely manner to business to aid decision making process
Responsible for ensuring that Financial Controllership team keeps up to date with changes in statutory, regulatory accounting and tax changes for the countries served as well as corporate governance standards are maintained
Responsibility for SOX s.302 signatory
Managing primary relationship with Regional Tax department, Group Finance, Internal Audit, Treasury, Regional Markets Business, the Global Accounting Centre, External Audit and outsource partners
PRIMARY SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:
• Qualified accountant with at least 5-6 years relevant post-qualification experience.
• A good understanding of accounting regulations
• Experience in management accounting, reporting and business control
• Experience in a supervisory/management position, especially multi tiered and virtual teams
• Previous shared services experience, within a multi cultural and a multi national environment
• A good understanding of the latest development in IAS/IFRS, Sarbanes-Oxley Act
• Proven ability to form strong customer relationships, an understanding of customer focus and service delivery
• Efficient work ethics with proven ability to meet deadlines
• Clear and effective communication & interpersonal skills, and leadership qualities
• Ability to see the ‘big picture’ in shared services environment but with attention to detail
• Drive & self motivation with the ability to work independently & deliver under pressure
• Adaptability, flexibility, and responsiveness
• Global Exposure – in terms of managing UK or US stakeholder’s in the domain area of General Accounting ( Balance sheet & other reconciliations )
• Fluent English speaking (mandatory)
