An Operational Intelligence Engineer provides high level Sherlock support and develops internal tools. Significant experience in a network security environment is required for this job, as is Sherlock Infrastructure and programming experience. Being able to interpret and analyze large data sets is a must. A passion for efficiency and excellence in service delivery contributes to the employees overall success in this role. The ability to work in a team environment with little direction from management is desired.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Monitoring Event Load on the analysts and infrastructure and identify trends.
Maintain intimate knowledge of current security trends and be able to clearly identify them within our infrastructure by creating filters to alert on them.
Manage difficult customer situations in a business manner with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
Participate when needed in internal planning sessions and provide feedback for service enhancements to improve scalability.
Handle escalations from other departments.
Develop tools to support internal efforts
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
2-3 years work experience in a technical Network Security service role.
Detailed knowledge of security technologies and trends.
Expert experience with internetworking technologies and protocols including TCP/IP and routers.
Expert knowledge/experience of network systems security principles and applications
Expert knowledge of at least one programming language (preferred Java or Perl)
Expert knowledge of MySQL databases, database design and data mining concepts.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience (4-6 years) demonstrating detailed hands-on technical internetworking expertise, juggling multiple tasks and projects, managing high pressure situations, taking initiative to resolve technical and personnel issues, and promoting a team environment. Experience in the Managed Security Services field required.
