Responsibilities
Purpose of Department:
The responsibility of this role will include the Group and HBEU Economic Capital, International Credit and UK HFC businesses in GAC Kolkata Credit Analytics team. This will be a key strategic role for the entire HBEU business and would help to achieve more value in terms of growth, financial impact and visibility for the team.
Besides analytical expertise the position also demands shouldering project management responsibilities in terms of leading several projects, multitasking, interacting with the Group and HBEU senior management team, handling client relationship, business development along with some of the in-house people management responsibilities like training, mentoring, leading L&D initiatives for risk functions etc. This role also demands lot of interaction with external regulators and independent review panels for regulatory projects.
Job Description:
* Oversight of service delivery across various entities and businesses within credit function
* Responsible for monitoring the quality of deliverables, setting up review mechanism and identifying areas for best practice sharing
* Interaction with the credit senior management team across Group and HBEU region
* Setting up some of the joined up global functions across four regions and Group entities
* Business development within the European region across PFS Credit analytics and Collections area
* Responsible for setting up analytics and infrastructure support for various emerging economies within Europe
* Administrative responsibility including people management, mentoring and training initiatives
* Responsible for process standardization through R2BP process certification and quality initiatives
* Innovation, process improvements and driving Global solutions across the regions
* Work as a back up and succession planning for all administrative and management responsibilities to the head of the credit function
* Taking part in independent reviews, discussions, local administrative meetings etc.
* Leading cross functional initiatives and SME forums across different functions and businesses
* Taking forward all recruitment and retention measures across the credit team
Skills/Experience Required:
* 8+ years proven credit policy and/or credit risk management experience, or equivalent.
* Knowledge and understanding of financial services preferred.
* Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Operation Research, Management, IT, Engineering or any other relevant numerical discipline; PhD degree preferred.
* Strong management. Inter-personal, organizational, analytical, networking, problem-solving, negotiation, project management and verbal and written communication skills.
* Minimum of 6+ years of people management experience
* Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent mainframe systems and software packages.
